Meet Jess

Hi there! I am so excited that you’re considering Sonder Minds Psychology to support you wherever you may be. My name is Jess (She/Her), and I am a Clinical Psychologist who holds a Master of Clinical Psychology. This means I have completed additional postgraduate training and supervised practice to gain clinical endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Early on in your therapeutic journey, you’ll hear me talk about the importance of finding a Psychologist who is the right fit for you. Lots of research has been completed on what leads to good therapeutic outcomes, and rapport (or fit) is one of the main factors! With this in mind, let me share a little about myself and who I am as a Psychologist.

I strive on creating a warm, gentle and non-judgemental therapeutic space for individuals. I am passionate about working with autistic and ADHD’ers, individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community and people who have experienced complex trauma. I am a trauma-informed, inclusive practitioner who shares progressive values. I enjoy working with a range of sexual health presentations, am a sex-positive clinician and am supportive of diverse relationship structures and practices. I work with children, adolescents and adults.

Using a client centered approach, I use a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego State Informed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Informed Therapy (DBT), Schema Informed Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing

I also complete Autism and ADHD assessments. Whether you’re looking for a second opinion, wanting to learn more about your brain type, or exploring a formal diagnosis for funding purposes, such to support an application to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), I am happy to support you.

In addition to therapy and assessment, I am a board-approved supervisor and provide supervision to Provisional Psychologists completing their 5+1 program, Registered Psychologists, Clinical Psychology Registrars & Clinical Psychologists. Please feel free to reach out via the below form to enquire about supervision.

I look forward to hopefully meeting you soon!
